Internet Archive to get its own documentary.

The Internet Archive is getting its own documentary, and it's about time too.

The Internet Archive (archive.org), founded by Brewster Kahle, is a non-profit organisation dedicated to preserving web content.

From indie blogs to giants like Google, it's all captured in the archive, frozen in time for future reference.

The Internet Archive plays an important role in preserving web history, particularly at times when history can otherwise be digitally rewritten on a whim.

Through its so-called Wayback Machine, the non-profit allows millions of users to access pages that would otherwise be lost to time, even after they go offline.

The service has historically been used as a point of reference for fact-checking official government pages.

Structure Films began producing a documentary about the organisation in 2025.

The film is scheduled to premier in 2027.
